WHO WE ARE

church.jpg

Brackenhurst Methodist Church is a member of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa and we express the reason for our existence as follows:

Our Purpose and Vision
The purpose of our church is to

  • gather the crowds
  • grow in devotion
  • generate wholeness, and
  • go beyond the barriers
  • Our vision is to be a worshipping, growing community of believers who serve together to make Christ known in Brackenhurst and beyond. We see a church where:

  • God is celebrated in uplifting and challenging Worship services
  • Family and Fellowship are celebrated in exciting community events such as barn dances, talent shows, quiz evenings, etc.
  • people find Healing and Wholeness and a place to belong
  • altar calls and intentional discipleship take place to facilitate Learning and Growth in the Christian faith.
  • Children, Youth and Young Adults are celebrated and given opportunity to make friends, meet Jesus and learn discipleship.
  • people become conscious of the needs of others and give themselves joyfully in Mission and Service

Take the R59 South to Vereeniging. Turn off on the Swartkoppies offramp and turn right at the top, crossing over the highway into Brackenhurst. At the second set of traffic lights after the highway turn left into Hennie Alberts. Travel all the way down Hennie Alberts passing Pick 'n Pay and McDonalds on your left; pass the big brick NG Kerk at the three way stop, and pass Bracken Gardens Shopping Centre (Dischem and Woolworths Foods) on your left. The first street left will be Agapanthus. Turn left, then right, then left, then right around a 90' corner, second right, first left and you're in Toinette Street. We're at the bottom on the left, opposite Laerskool Orion. The church and the school are signposted from Hennie Alberts.
