Retreats

The Chapel at Dayspring

Various types of retreats, such as weekends away or day retreats, are run annually on a regular basis. These fun weekends aim to foster a closer walk with Christ as well as closer fellowship with others.

Weekend retreats are usually held at The Good Shepherd near the Hartebeesport Dam, and day retreats at Dayspring. Dayspring is a quiet retreat centre in Meyersdal run by Debbie and Di and is open for light meals, tea, reflection and prayer on Wednesdays during spring and summer, or by appointment at other times.

Retreats are advertised in the church notices. Contact Di Groenewold on 011 867 4061 or Debbie Jenkins on 011 867 1643.

Hospital Visitation

These compassionate people have a ministry of visiting those who are hospitalised in our local hospitals.

Please let us know if you or a loved one are in or going to hospital by contacting the church office, 011 900 1503, or filling in the slip on the back of the notices.

Pastoral Care

This is a group of dedicated volunteers who visit or phone the elderly, the sick at home and those who have been bereaved. Contact Lesley Kahts on 011 867 4124.

Counselling

Family, Couple or Individual Counselling
We have trained lay people available at the church to meet the needs of people in different circumstances. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance and listening is the highest form of hospitality.

'Hospitality is not to change people but to offer them space where change can take place.'

Trauma Debriefing
Trained counsellors are available to all who have recently experienced trauma. Trauma occurs when an external event, such as an experience of a criminal act, overwhelms an individual's capacity to cope and master the feelings aroused by the event.

Appointments for counselling or trauma debriefing can be made through the office 011 900 1503.

Healing

Healing Services are held once a quarter at each of the Sunday services giving people an opportunity to encounter God in a meaningful and healing way.

The Prayer Chain is an important resource through which a number of pray-ers are contacted to pray for a specific need. It affords us the opportunity to lift others' needs to Christ who loves us. Contact the church office, 011 900 1503, or Pam Harbinson on 011 867 2470.

HEALING AND WHOLENESS

Healing-logo.gif

We believe that each church is called to be a centre of healing and wholeness and we try to live this out as a congregation.

We offer healing ministries to our own members and members of the greater community regardless of religion, race, age or status.
