Women's Auxiliary

The motto of the Women’s Auxiliary is “To know Christ and to make Him Known”
There are many ways in which we try to do this.

The word auxiliary has the meaning of assisting or supporting and in many ways this is what we seek to do as we try to respond to the needs around us. We seek to support our members and individuals and groups in the Church who have needs of many descriptions. The support includes visiting, keeping contact, providing 'Love boxes', donations or helping with catering.

Fundraising events are organized with the aim of making money so that we can support projects. Our main fundraising event is the Mothers Day Morning Market.

We are actively involved with the following projects:

  • Epworth Childrens Home – We have contact with and support two Forget-me-not children. This support includes trying to make their houses into “homes”. We provide stationery, clothes, and groceries to the Home.
  • Brackendowns Police Station and Trauma Centre – We have contact with the officers as well as providing materials (eg toiletries, etc) for the trauma centre.
  • Groceries – We distributed fridge magnets to the congregation as a reminder to bring groceries to the Church for needy families.
  • Environmental Issues – We produce a pamphlet with tips on issues to enable us to be more environmentally friendly.
  • We meet on the 2nd Saturday afternoon of the month at 14h30. The meetings vary in topic and format. Speakers address us on a variety of topics from devotional issues, medical, travel, opportunities for service and we try to include something that is just for fun.

The WA is open to all women – we would love to have you join us.
