At BMC we celebrate children, youth and young adults and offer them the opportunity to make friends, meet Jesus and learn discipleship.
We try to offer age appropriate activites, as well as various levels of training for youth leaders, and aim to integrate young people fully into the life of the church.
Children who are baptised are placed on the cradle roll. The cradle roll secretary remains in contact with those children until they reach Chidlren's Church age and are invited to attend Children's Church.
Our creche is open at the 09h30 Sunday morning service and provides care for children between the ages of 1 and 3 years old. The creche takes place in the wendy house behind the cry room and offers parents the opportunity to worship without being disturbed by their young children.
In Junior Children's Church (09h30 service; ages 3 - pre school) the aim is to show the little ones that God loves them, that each one is special in his or her own way, and to begin teaching them about the Bible in an enjoyable and creative way.
In Kids 4 Christ Senior (Grades 1- 6) we aim to teach children about Jesus and his great love for them, and to help them develop a relationship with him in a fun and enriching way. All in all our vision at Kids 4 Christ is to help raise God empowered kids: kids who will be able to transform lives, having learned that with God all things are possible! Kids 4 Christ takes place on Sundays at 07h45 and 09h30.
'Paradox' is an environment where teenagers and young adults (ages 13-21) can come on a Sunday morning and still feel a part of the church. The purpose of Paradox is to raise young people up to the point where they feel ready to be confirmed, to guide them through their confirmation and to continue to develop those who have been confirmed. Join Paradox on Sunday mornings at 09h30 and enjoy live bands, multimedia presentaions, games, movies, guest speakers and technology. For more information contact Bruce Vivian on 082 873 4566.
Are you a young musician looking for a place to serve with your musical talent? Or are you interested in learning a musical instrument? ARC is a ministry connected to Paradox (Teen Church) and is about growing young musicians. We provide spiritual and musical training for members.
ARC meets twice a week and you can contact John Mark Massey for more details about this ministry.
FYX is a preparation for confirmation programme which runs for approximately seven months from February to October, during school terms, for young people in Grade 10 or 16 years and older. It is an opportunity for young people to grow and mature in their spiritual journey through weekly meetings of discipleship, fellowship and worship.
The FYX group works through the Youth Alpha programme and other material and participates in the Youth Camp in February and a FYX camp in August.
Towards the end of the programme young people are invited to join a confirmation course of twelve sessions from October to March the following year.
Confirmation is an opportunity for young people who already have a personal relationship with Jesus, who are involved in a ministry, and who regularly attend church, to make a public profession of their faith.
The course runs from October to March and includes participation in a mission project, attendance at a Manna and Mercy course and a Bible Study on the core values and qualities of a Christian. Potential confirmees apply in writing (form available from church office, 011 900 1503) and have an interview with the minister / youth pastor before being accepted. If one is not sure about being confirmed, please attend FYX first.
Youth Camp is a multi-generational camp for ages 10 to 25 and happens once a year in February. The aim of the camp is to build relationships between the different age groups in Youth Ministry and to break down barriers between the Children's Church, Teen Church, Confirmation and Young Adults.
FYX Camp is held towards the end of the FYX programme and is based on the Alpha Holy Spirit weekend. We offer members of FYX an opportunity to get to know Christ in a new and a special way.
Young Adults Retreat is a weekend retreat giving young adults an opportunity to reflect and be rejuvenated. The retreat happens once a year, normally in the July school holidays.
December Leadership Training Camp (d-camp) is a training centre that equips youth aged 16 to 21 to effectively lead in the ministry to which they have been called.
CAMPS ARE ADVERTISED IN THE CHURCH NOTICES!
